Well, as it’s a little obvious, Tama is a cannibal! Now, this isn’t a very normal element you see in a character <strike>unless you’re a cool kid and have played dds</strike> and it puts some people off—not only that, people just assume he wants to eat everything ever at any chance. This essay here is to straighten things out about Tama, his desires, hunger, and all that good stuff.

☆☆ FIRST OF ALL; Tama wasn’t supposed to be a cannibal. Originally, it was just some childish thing that started out when we were making Tama and Mizu—but then as he started out, I realized that it kind of did work that way, and some of his personality could be explained with that as the cause. NOT TO SAY that being a cannibal is the defining characteristic of his personality, and he’s just a cannibal and there to eat people, and that he always thinks of food and he has no real thoughts or anything that doesn’t revolve around that.

☆	☆ CLASSIFICATION;

When Tama looks at people, he judges them by their appearance, like anyone else. The way they hold themselves, their air, their skin, their face, sometimes their clothes; you know, stuff like that. And, just like people, when he judges them, that gives him a basic opinion of them from the start. Just like how most people won’t want to be near someone whom they deem is ugly, Tama doesn’t particularly think much of people whom he deems as “disgusting”. This classification is secondary; it’s based solely on appearance. The first classification he has is like everyone else’s—where it’s based on personality. While he might not like someone he thinks doesn’t look good at first, if he gets along with them, he gets along with them, but he still won’t think they look any “Tastier”.

☆	☆ ACTIONS;

Okay, so we’ve got classification down. Now we go onto actions! A person Tama really gets along with or deems as Tasty =/= Going out to eat them. Tama absolutely will not go after people he doesn’t know very well or doesn’t know at all. He knows that people don’t take kindly to cannibals for… obvious reasons, so he’s not so open with the subject with people he doesn’t know—at least, unless there’s some sort of occasion that will make him spill things he shouldn’t. Even when he’s starving, he’ll chew on his own fingers before eating someone at random. In addition, Tama will always ask someone he has grown closer to but wishes to eat (more on this later).

Tama doesn’t eat people as his main dish—Not only would that probably deteriorate at his health quick, he’d starve. He enjoys a variety of other foods like pizza or fish, and enjoys them just as much as the next person. If Tama is hungry, his first impulse is to find something to eat, obviously, since eating is very important to him, but he will find them within reasonable bounds. The first thing he looks for is something like ramen or chicken or whatever he can get first, although he might find the taste of humans superior, he won’t always take it if the options is presented to him.

☆☆ PEOPLE;

So. How does Tama view people? It’s a little complicated, ahaha. Tama views them as human beings who breathe, talk, have personalities, lives and all that. But at the same time, when Tama looks at people, he’ll count one extra feature—the fact that they’re edible. He’s grown up viewing things like this, so he doesn’t find it strange. Just like growing up knowing that people have arms and legs, it’s just a fact of life for him that people are edible, and they can taste very good.

In a sense, being considered a ‘person’ is the same as being considered ‘edible’, but it isn’t the same as being considered ‘food’. Someone Tama would view as ‘food’ would be solely that to him—just something to eat because it tastes good or is a nesseccity. To Tama, ‘food’is the same as the dead fish you buy at the market or the ice cream you can get. They’re an object, not a person. For a person to be viewed only as food by Tama is incredibly rare, and that’s the type of person Tama will not hesitate to go to if he wants to eat someone.

Basically, people = edible, but people =/= food. It might not sound like a big difference, but it definitely effects how Tama views and interacts with things. Since basically everyone’s edible in Tama’s eyes, he won’t treat them any differently (except Mizu ;w; Mi-kun is special).

☆	☆ DESIRE VS. HUNGER;

For Tama, ‘wanting to eat’ is a completely different emotion from ‘desire’, and he recognizes them as two completely separate things. I.E, if Tama ever had a girlfriend or liked a girl, he wouldn’t want to eat he; he’d feel like any other teenage guy—he’d like her romantically and he’d try to keep her safe.

He also knows that the good/pleasing feeling from eating people/eating/hunger =/= sex. They are completely different emotions, and if they weren’t, Tama would probably stop eating people :’D He’s pretty shy about his own personal social life.

☆☆ BEING FRIENDS VS. BEING FOOD;

There are some people Tama finds to look tasty and he will ask them if he can eat them, and there are some people Tama finds to look tasty and he won’t ask them a thing. The reason tends to vary depending on Tama’s mood and the person (if the person is easy to get along with and Tama is playful around them), he will ask. It doesn’t even matter if he’s hungry or not—it usually starts out as a joke, but if the person accepts, he’ll take them seriously, whether they mean it or not. WHICH ISN’T TO SAY HE’LL GO TO THEIR HOUSE AND GO FOR THEM RIGHT THEN AND THERE because. he won’t XD He’ll just kind of mark them as ‘this person is okay to eat’. Most of the time he doesn’t go through with the eating part, because he either gets distracted by other things or they tell him to gtfo when he gets around to asking )’:

Generally, it tends to be random. However, he doesn’t ever make friends with a person just because he wants to eat them. By judging how tasty they are gives Tama means to determine if he wants to be near them and if he’ll get along with them, but getting to know them is another thing (like, he didn’t think Mikio looked very tasty and they didn’t really get along, but now they’re getting along decently!)

☆☆ MORALITY;

Does Tama know that he’s basically ruining a person’s future or killing the person when he eats them? Yes, he does. However, he tries to avoid thinking about it because he likes to think that eating them and killing a person are two different things, but because he deems people as ‘edible’ and thus still living breathing people rather than ‘food’, which would simply be an object, he knows it’s basically the same thing. Tama cannot and will not defend himself if someone he knows brings it up (if it’s a stranger he’ll dodge the question, most likely). He likes to turn a blind eye to the fact and pretend it’s not there, living life as it goes and not to be held back by that—but, deep down he feels kind of guilty about it.

Tama continues to eat people, and he pretends he’s not really killing them by not thinking about the details as he, before he, and after he eats, but even if he were to think about it, he wouldn’t stop unless there was a good reason that would make him stop.

☆☆ EFFECT ON TAMA IN THE PAST;

Mandatory backstory section! This still kind of effects him today. Way back when Tama was a kid and living back in Tokyo with his family in that tiny culdesac, no one really complained about his tendancy to, well, want to eat people! He couldn’t at that age, because he simply did not have the strength or ability to eat people since he was so young, so it wasn’t really a problem. The most he could do was bite or chase Mizu, which didn’t really hurt anybody, so they let it be.

Well, Tama then grew up thinking that it was okay to be like this, and that other people were like him too. Of course, when he got to school, putting down that his favorite food was ‘people’was a bit of an issue, since, as stated, he didn’t know it was something people shouldn’t know about. This got his teachers talking and the kids avoiding him (I imagine one of them dared him to try eating him because they didn’t believe him, which then resulted in him biting them and him getting sent home oops). So Tama pretty much figured that there was something wrong with him, rather than the rest of the world. It made Tama a sad kitty for awhile and a bit introverted (read: spending time inside or by concentrating on hanging with Mizu :’) ) until his older brother, who had rather questionable hobbies, starting letting Tama watch his work and talking to him more, and Tama realized that hey, it’s just who he is.

Because of this, Tama tends not to share the fact that he enjoys people out, because he really, really hates being alone. He tends to become very tight-lipped and dry if a friend brings it up, because he doesn’t want to get anymore into it than he has to, and he’s honestly been through it a million times before. It’s come to the point where, sure, Tama likes people and he likes having people to be friends with, but he stopped letting people’s opinions and thoughts effect him unless they hit close to home or if he’s fond of them.

☆☆ MIZU;

Mi-kun is special enough to deserve his own section :> Mizu is extremely important to Tama because he’s known him since they were kids. This is particularly important because Mizu stayed friends with Tama, despite all the trouble Tama probably is. It’s a bit of a peculiar thing—Tama really, really likes Mizu; he’d be depressed forever practically if something happened to him or anything, and he’d do anything to keep him, but at the same time, Tama wants to eat him. Tama views Mizu as the most delicious thing ever, and he thinks that’s a good thing for Mizu; kind of like the best compliment you can give (like how Yuujirou says ‘I hope you die soon’ as a compliment). However, it honestly doesn’t register in Tama’s mind that if he eats him, Mizu will die 8D; He just thinks it s good thing that Mizu is delicious and doesn’t think past that—it’s kind of a habit from when they were kids, you could say. Tama does, however, yield if Mizu says he isn’t feeling well even if he’s lying because don’t die mi-kun ;-; Though, since they were kids, Tama’s lightened up, I’d think! He’s probably a lot nicer now, and he likes doing things for Mizu out of friendship and gratitude.

Basically, despite the contradicting emotions and actions, Mizu is the most important person in Tama’s life, and he gets his own category.

And hopefully, this makes sense. I may expand upon this later.

Tama's laid back enough, but he can't help it when he finds tasty things--or thinks of things (and people) in terms of "yummy-looking" or "not yummy-looking"; it's just instinct. Some people just won't classify or won't be treated differently, but if he finds you tasty, well. Tama won't overstep his boundaries more than he can (like if you're complete strangers, he won't walk straight up to you); he has more common sense than that. ...kind of. He'll treat you the same, but have a side desire to eat you (if you're a person). He himself doesn't know if it's just a cannibalistic desire, vore, or if he means sexually, but he just knows he's wants to eat you. Sometimes, Tama also has difficulty discerning between when people are serious or not, and has the habit of not listening to anyone he doesn't care for, causing him to overstep his boundaries often. Physically, Tama's extremely sensitive to cold weather. His body can't handle it, and he'll curl up into a ball or cling to the nearest person and freeze to death unless warmed. This is why he wears his huge-ass boa-- central heating system baby *A*b

Persona;
Strength: Pierce
Weak: Ice, Wind,
Null: Fire
High-Evade: Light, Dark

STRENGTHS: Tama is physically fit and is pretty strong for a guy his age. His body is extremely flexible and he's double-jointed in many places. He's also pretty fast. Personality-wise, Tama can get what he wants if he knows he has to change how he acts to get it. He's also not easy to waver, so he's not likely to get distracted easily. Tama wouldn't leave behind a close friend; he's pretty loyal to them.
WEAPON OF CHOICE: Chain Dart [chain weapon family; Pierce Damage]
PERSONA: Cheshire Cat
PERSONA ABILITIES: Recarm, Trafuri, Cleave, Agi
ARCANA: Empress
FACTION: S.E.E.S
PERSONALITY: Tama's a bit... odd, you could say. Generally, he's pretty laid back and easy-going. He's extremely flexible with plans or decisions but never indecisive. He's usually pretty happy, not loud but not really quiet either, manipulative to a certain level if it meets his ends. Dedicated, smart, honest enough.

And then he's a cat.

Tama has many cat-like habits, things like climbing trees or walls, lounging around, stretching out on the couch or preening his torso when he's pleased while he sleeps. He can also be pretty picky when it comes to things he considers "his" or not, and won't always share unless you're very close. However, he hates being called someone's pet. It just annoys him. And when Tama's annoyed, you'll really regret it--he can hold quite a grudge, and knows the art of revenge. He's generally very short and curt with the person he's displeased with, but he's not above yelling if you push his buttons enough.

Then there's Tama's hungry side. He's not sure why, it's been like that ever since he was born, but he can't help it when he comes across something he finds to look tasty. If it's just regular food he'll just eat it, but more often than not it's a person, and that can lead to problems. Tama himself doesn't see anything wrong with how he operates, and probably would jump on the chance instinctively should it ever come up.

Though, in general, while Tama seems friendly enough when not on the topic of tasty-looking things, he doesn't really care. Sure he likes the world, the people, but unless they're really close to him, in the end, their opinions don't impact him much, and his conscience is clicked off if it regards anyone he doesn't hold close to him.

Academics; |||
Charm; |||
Courage; ||||

BACKGROUND: Tokyo, Tokyo, one of the most popular places in Japan, so very highly populated, and bound to have many unique characters inside it.

In one culdesac in Tokyo, Tama was born. Tama's family, three siblings and parents, was a bit eccentric, much like a few other families in said culdesac, and were extremely open to new ideas and strange things. They had no problem letting their child do what they wanted-- that is, of course, as long as they weren't killing anyone or anything. ...Often.

Since he was very young Tama had his own ideas about how things should work, what he wanted to wear where he wanted to go what he wanted to eat. He was a bit picky, but that's just how things were. He also seemed to have an affinity for feline-types and behaviors, but they couldn't be sure.

But, the one problem was cold. Early on had they discovered Tama'd body couldn't handle cold above all else. Luckily, Tokyo's climate didn't call for extreme winters, but the winters could sometimes still be a bit too much for him to handle. Until they could find a solution, they simply kept him inside on cold days.

Another problem was eating-- He was picky about it, but if he found something he loved he wouldn't give up until he had it and ate it. Sometimes he'd go for people, too, but his family just thought it was cute; much like a baby animal teething.

Now, he couldn't have been much old than five or so, when he met Mizu. Mizu lived in the same culdesac that he did, but he wasn't out often due to his health. But, when they did meet, they hit off instantly, and were the best of friends forever.

...Except not really.

Well, they did become very close friends, but there was a small problem, something that finally had them labeled as the cat and mouse of the culdesac-- Tama wanted to eat Mizu. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but Mizu looked delicious, and he wanted to eat him; or at least just take a bite. So when they weren't getting along doing whatever friends did, Tama would chase Mizu in attempts to eat him. Of course, Tama would always stop if Mizu were to seriously complain about his health; he wouldn't want him dead.

When Tama was ten, the solution to his problem was to carry a heater. This idea caused some confusion at first, but his family figured it could also double as a work out for him. So, they gave him a warm boa of his liking-- a huge one--and in it, a lightweight heater. The light ones hardly made any difference at all, but over time they would trade the lighter ones for heavier, warmer ones, and eventually Tama could carry it as if it were a feather. Soon he began customizing his boas to match his outfits, by then already having a strong sense of fashion and a bit of skill when it came to making clothes.

Of course, in comes the Dark Hour. When he was about fifteen, he began to experience it. He never told anyone, and he simply passed off the behavior (nausea, illness, ect) from the amount of cold in the air until he became used to it. Sure it freaked him out, but he had survival instinct-- he didn't want to die anytime soon, especially not from some poor excuse of a horror movie.

Sometime after he turned seventeen, Mizu was moving away. He had some issues with his family, and finally left. Tama wasn't sure if Mizu ever told him where he was moving (if he did, he lost the address), but he certainly didn't like the idea of his best friend moving away, just like that. Sure he had other friends, but they still weren't his best friends. Needless to say, Tama was pretty listless for awhile.

But soon after, Tama received some sort of invitation. He wasn't quite sure what it was about, but it was inviting him to a very good school in a completely different place; and he couldn't help it, he never did like staying in one place for much too long.

After some preparation and good-byes, Tama went off to Iwatodai. On the train over, he wondered, what tasty things waited for him there?
